“[The early church] devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.”
Acts 2:42-44, NIV

“Albertans across the province have told me that they are tired of old, entitled approaches that leave them out of conversations about their livelihoods, about their services and about their families. Whether you are a business leader, a union leader, a municipal leader, someone who leads in our civil society or whether you are a plain, old, just great Albertan, let me say this to you, ‘Our legislature belongs to you!’ The government belongs to you and you will be treated with respect.”
Alberta Premier Rachel Notley in her May 6th election acceptance speech

“We’re kind of part of this country folks!...”
Rachel Notley in her acceptance speech after her supporters
booed mention of the Prime Minister

“Rachel Notley has often said it was her mother, Sandy – who died in 1998 – who helped her develop a deep social conscience. Sandy was a no-nonsense Christian, originally from Massachusetts, who imbued in her daughter the biblical principle that you do unto others
as you would have them do unto you.”
Notley’s Way, Globe and Mail, Gary Mason, May 8th

“We looked for somebody new to believe in. Someone who we felt was authentic, and genuine and who we could relate to.”
New Hoper Jodi Hughes on why Notley won

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to
walk humbly with your God.”
The prophet Micah 6:8, NIV
