“Why don't you listen, you can trust me...”
Hide in your Shell, Supertramp

“He said before, "This is the time and place to rest, to give rest to the weary. This is the place to lay down your burden." But they won't listen.”
The prophet Isaiah 28:12, MSG

“There's a place I know the way to. A place there is
no need to feel that you are alone.”
Hide in your Shell, Supertramp

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. My Father’s house has plenty of room; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going... “I am the way””
Jesus in John 14:1-4, 6, TNIV

“Oh won’t you hear me, I know exactly what you're feelin'. Cause all your troubles are within you, so begin to see that I'm just bleeding too...”
Hide in your Shell, Supertramp

“It's obvious, of course, that he didn't go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That's why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people's sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing - and would be able to help where help was needed.”
Hebrews 2:16-18, MSG

“Love me, love you
Loving is the way to help me, help you...”

Thank you Cougar. Your experience makes you a Wounded Healer. You will be a Wonderful Counselor. And on that day, you will lay your multi-faceted crown at the feet of our Lord Jesus. Put on your armour Gentle Warrior, your Faith will protect you. Digest the Word for spiritual nutriment and thus a sharpened sword. Spend time with the tears that soften your heart. Pray/Listen even in the quietest moments, and more so admist the bustle.

Yep, it is true. Very Similar experience, just turned 52. I would listen to "Even in the Quietest Moments" at 3am. I knew that smoking pot was wrong. I wanted to escape that life. I would flush my stash down the toilet. It was a represtantive sacrifice, my attempt to change. Unfortunately I was the proverbial dog that returned to his vomit. I am finally free today, a voice crying in the wilderness. I passed the National Counselor's Exam on October 15th. Now I am Certifiable and God's purpose for my travels through the valley was..... You know what is was! Praise God

thanks! I can relate to your feelings, thoughts, and words. God spoke to me too thru the lyrics of the supertramp songs. It was something I could identify with and caused me to think further. It's incredible how God works thru all things in our lives, whether we realize it or not at the time.
