Metallica aren't the only ones who have referred to the bible. AC/DC is another example, in fact at least half of their discography is filled with bible references. But AC/DC and Metallica are not alone. Skillet is another one.

Metallica isn't satanic idiot. 95% of heavy metal music is not satanic. Most of the lyrics are written about life experiences, historical events, the negative effects of drug abuse, or a story is told. You really need to do your research. Why don't you chase after rap music? All it does is talk about drugs, money, sex, and cars. Metal gets a bad name for no reason, while it's one of the most intelligent and intellectual genres there is. Do some research.

Another sad sad evidence that Metallica are not who they seem to be if this "pastor" promotes them - and gets promoted - the way he preached on this disgusting Satanic Bill Gates & Co scum Bono & U2. U2 is 2000% FAKE ! Every true Christian would see that which tells us who are NOT true Christians: This "pastor" and the lot.

A true song writer writes of life and experience and way may happen or simply how a person feels because they maybe caught up within themselves at a bad point in their life.We all have cursed sinned and broke many commandments.
Singers express those feelings through that music for many reasons and one maybe to not go back to that same thing again.
And you can't judge a song by a few lines because it's a very big possibility that you are taking away the whole meaning and what the song truly means.
For instance, Creeping Death or Enter Sandman.
And anyone who judges the meaning of someone else's song is literally just wrong because the writer himself could be approaching from another angle.

It's so refreshing that this wasn't another person bashing Metallica (or rock/metal in general). Regardless of your opinion on Christianity, Metallica, or this pastor's motives, it's pretty awesome that he at least finds positives in two things that have, historically, been opposed to each other. Christians need to be more like this guy. Try to find God in everything rather than inserting Satan (I'm looking at you, WBC!). Kudos to this guy.

yeah...keep going, tell us about my friend of misery, where JAmes clearly attacks preachers for being hypocritically-egoistically full of shit, and who lift themselves up by feeling more holier than thou, or about the God that failed, or about the young boy in Unforgiven, did I not "include everyooooooone-AH!"? Please.... maybe in a few decades Metallica will get softer and get into christian rock....but not now.

It's true God's judgment against Egypt was fierce but then the murder of the Hebrew babies was a horrible crime. God did give people a way out. Put blood on your door posts and lentil. The Pharaoh never gave the baby Hebrews a way out.

Thanks for the help back in the day. Don't recall what was emailed back in reply, but God bless you and good luck on your own journey.

Preaching a Gospel of forgiveness is like preaching a Gospel of tolerance. Christ forgave and I am not denying that whatsoever. Only God (who everyone now hates because He is viewed as casual or a bad-tempered being in everyones eyes) HE can only offer forgiveness of sins through belief in His Son Jesus Chris who is perfect. And that is through Jesus Christ's resurrection on the the cross; Him being raised from the dead by HIs Father God and He conquered death as a perfect man and God, while He was on this earth with God raising Him to glory. My Jesus suffered more than I could ever do for any specific reason I wanted to do. He did it for all of us without complaining and love for us dirty filthy sinners. (I mean this to make a point my Lord) , but this powerful spirit of God, being Jesus Christ will soon come back laying to waste the people that spit in His face at the time of His death. When He comes back soon He comes a conquerer. He will be the opposite (weakling) that you say He was during the Bible. He will make you tremble on your knees. Trust Me children of this world; Christ Loves you but you have turned your back on Him. (Yeah, Im a nut job as you say and am proud of it). Just give it a few years. He is coming.

go through your life thinking that absolutely everything that ever happens,
good or bad, is God's will. that is completely ridiculous.

i can answer. Simple. There was nothing. God creates every thing. So this
means god creates all good. Inversely, god creates bad, as there was nothing
before God created all that there is. That is if you fall for that biblical
mumbo jumbo.

Well since THE god created the world and everything in it you can think of etc... Has a complete power and control over everything, he or she must have something to do with bad too?? Are you trying to tell me your god ( I don't have one ) was somewhat bored, decided to create the life icluding humans and make them responsible for the actions they take, expecting them to believe his existence giving them no evidence other then fairytales.. and burn them in hell for not believing.what a psycho

I don't know which religion you are talking about that believes child abuse to be acceptable. Adolf Hitler was religious as was Jim Jones and Manson. If my brother commits a heinous act, such as child molestation, does that mean that my entire family guilty of child molestation ( theoretically speaking)? No. The bible says that the father is not responsible for the sins of his children and visa versa. Each perso is an individual and part of a group but the group is not responsible fo the individ

The power of free speech thankfully recognizes ones right to express themselves, good, bad or otherwise.
Some people believe e.g. child abuse is acceptable, should I respect their beliefs?
Religion is despicable.

Wikipedia says,
"The Judas Kiss" is thought to be referring to The Bible, where Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus by kissing him.
However to me the song is a little more like the Judas in each of us as we ignore Jesus and do things that are wrong or even denying that we have a savior.

its ok i to be nonreligious. But do your research before you start putting christians in a catergory of ignorant a##holes filled with hate. Yes I am proud to believe in god. I think some parts of the system are corrupt, yes. That's why I don't go to church a lot. But people think just because religion is corrupt, god must be. Damn people piss me off.

I already had so much respect for the guys of Metallica.... that respect just tripled in size. I always knew there was a much deeper meaning to each song than what it implies literally, but this is finally some proof to confirm my beliefs 100%. I love you guys, Lars, James, Kirk and Rob/Jason/Cliff... you guys are all truely amazing in your own ways. \m/

I agree that Metallica makes a connection to me, and most likely loads of metallica fans. And I'll agree that Metallica mention religion in thier lyrics (not always intentionally though) and of course giver James' background, it's going to be an influence. however, I don't think metallica are preachers or trying to spread the word of the bible really. People connect with Nothing Else Matters, but I doubt they cry out to God during that song...

Implying that he and his wife were on the floor. First off, lucky guy because I was at that concert and those tickets were very expensive. Second off, did he not notice the people throwing and shoving each other around in the pit? He says he was right by the stage he would have been hit. Thirdly when that song came on if I were to ask people after the show if they were crying out to god during that song I guarantee 99 outta 100 would've said get the **** outta here.

Another preacher only hearing what he wants to hear. He clearly doesn't understand Metallica and wants to exploit their words to somehow reinforce the bible. "He made this, he made that" He made everything so it's still his fault we have sin so stop blaming everybody for how dangerous your god made reality. He made black widows and jelly fish so congrats? I'm really curious how his sermon of Deicide or Bad Religion would go.
