Peter Gabriel's parable

This morning we will be looking at Peter Gabriel’s 1986 hit, In your Eyes, from the album "So" (Geffen Records)

“love I get so lost, sometimes
days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
when I want to run away
I drive off in my car
but whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are”
In your Eyes, Peter Gabriel

Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit?
to be out of your sight?
Psalm 139:7, MSG

“in your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
in your eyes
the resolution of all the fruitless searches”
In your Eyes, Peter Gabriel

Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new.
2 Corinthians 5:17, MSG

The same glory you gave me, I gave them,
Jesus in John 17

The main street of the City was pure gold, translucent as glass. But there was no sign of a Temple, for the Lord God—the Sovereign-Strong—and the Lamb are the Temple. The City doesn't need sun or moon for light. God's Glory is its light, the Lamb its lamp! The nations will walk in its light and earth's kings bring in their splendor. Its gates will never be shut by day, and there won't be any night. They'll bring the glory and honor of the nations into the City.
A picture of heaven in Revelation 21:21-26, MSG

It is not a 'theological' song nor a 'christian' song its a simple song about human and spiritual love and longing. It was written by Gabriel after a separation with his wife. Its a powerful song and I'm sorry but drawing biblical analogies and 'claiming' it as a christian message just cheapens it.
