Remain in me - Heather Cowie
May 25, 2008
|I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
“We must imitate Christ’s life and his ways if we are to be truly enlightened and set free from the darkness of our own hearts. Let it be the most important thing we do, then to reflect on the life of Jesus Christ”
(From The Imitation of Christ byThomas a Kempis)
This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
This is my command: Love each other.
“[T]hey need your hearts to love them. So, spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next-door neighbor.”
(From A Gift for God by Mother Teresa)
