Media @ New Hope CalgaryJohn re-visited this sermon July 22, 2012.

Sticky and sweet Sunday, Pastor John had the people at New Hope not only thinking about how God's face is in a Honey Bee but also tasting how sweet it is.
What do Honey Bees teach us about their Maker?
Honey donated by "The Greidanus Honey Mill"

In order to set our way straight once more, we need the recovery of that sense of wonder and amazement we all experienced as children when first discovering the plants and animals that surround us. I hope...that an intimate look at the enduring bond between bees and mankind will rekindle that sense of wonder.
Entymologist, Stephen Buchmann

My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.
Proverbs 24:13-14, NLT

“Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever.
The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.”
Psalm 19:9-11, NLT

Exodus 33:20 tells us, “You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” So stop trying..

save and preserve Honey Bees and we save ourselves inherently. Bees truly perform the works of God.

What came first. The egg or the chicken. Religion has only separated us. I applaud the great courage people of faith have shown but in the end and when the coffers are dry. God has left the building but never are hearTs. Strength during the changes to come all, God knows we are going to need it. Be wise like serpents and have in stinks like deer. Get to know the language of wind and what grows nere you. Talk to the Mother and she will Talk back. Have compassion but know your limits.

I started seeing God's face in everything when I started to obey Jesus Christ's every word. Literally eyes ears mouth nose and beard. then the phrase the blind leading the blind made quite a bit of sense

Or instead of actually physically doing something about we could all just pray really hard about it. This would certainly be more effective and way easier. Also, we wouldn't have to feel responsible for our actions because we would have concluded that its gods will that bees should be driven to extinction. Isn't it wonderful to be so dismissive of personal responsibilities and physical action. Taking action and being kind is not important. Just pray and do nothing!!!

Title Change suggestion, based on the wide range of comments you have rec'vd.(!): HUMANITY'S FACE IN A HONEY BEE! The truth is the poor little bees are way too stressed by too many factors, many man-made, a further reflection of the 'relentlessness' of our culture.

I am a pastor who is sick on long term disability and am taking up the hobby of beekeeping. I would like to receive a copy of the theological article re: bees mentioned by the pastor, please. Is that possible?

The article by Eric Miller

Poor bees even when the news talks about them they say how terrible the loss of them is for the income of the keeper and markets. Money is all ppl talk about. Why can't we do things for free, just because it's nice. Being kind to others is important. That includes Bees and other creatures. Taking care of others is a sure way of caring for yourself. That is what I believe. God bless all.

Kieth,
My father was a beekeeper in Ventura county. I worked with my father in the bee business for about twenty years and I have fond memories of the bees. I was looking around on the internet for videos related to bees and came across yours.

I'm 51 years old now and have started thinking about the magic of bees again. So several months ago I decided to start doing bee presentations for schools. As a amtter of fact my first one is going to be in about three hours for 60 first graders. I've written a shor piece about bees and if your interested I'll send it to you.

Thanks
Brian
