Media @ New Hope CalgaryToday we finish our series on the Da Vinci Code by looking at the divinity of Christ.

“The Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory”
The Gospel of John 1:14

“My dear, “Teabing declared, “until that moment in history, Jesus was viewed by his followers as a mortal prophet… a great and powerful man, but a man none the less. A mortal.
“Not the Son of God?” [asked Sophie] “Right,” Teabing said. “Jesus’ establishment as ‘the Son of God’ was officially proposed and voted on by the Council of Nicea [325 CE] “Hold on, you’re saying Jesus’ divinity was the result of a vote?” “A relatively close vote at that,” Teabing added…
Professor Teabing talking to Sophie Neveu, page 233, The Da Vinci Code

“[We believe] in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father…”
The Nicene Creed, 325 CE

“Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”
Jesus in the Gospel of John 14:9

“It is something we could never have guessed, and yet, once we have been told, one almost feels one ought to have been able to guess it because it fits in so well with all the things we know already”
C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity, page 135

i find this video to very good. i like how there is music playing ever so lightly in the background so that it doesnt overwhelm thoughts and the pauses between lines gives time for reflection on what these words actually mean and how they can relate. only i wish it was the entire chapter other than thank you very much i really appreciate it!

Whats so crazy to me is that Jesus is called the only begotten son of God meaning procreation so that indicate that Jesus Christ was created Jehovah was not created he been here form time indefinte Jehovah revealing himself as flesh means that Jesus was not a created being when in colossians 1:15 says who is the image of the invisible God firstborn over all creation.
