  • The Story behind the Book - "The Day Metallica Came to Church"
    April 08, 2014
What this gentleman doesn't realize is what church actually means. God did not leave us a book, he left us a church; a teaching office. Who's charter is to save souls and make us holy. The first day of the visible church was on Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended and to dwell with us (as God promised) and the preaching of Saint Peter and the Apostles. The completed Canon was produced by this church and not available until the fourth century. The bible is not necessary for salvation. The sacraments are. Christs' act on the cross is a once and for all sacrifice, but the fruits of this still have to be applied to each of our lives. This act allowed the opportunity for salvation, but did not guarantee it, simply by believing. We need to cooperate with his graces via the Holy Spirit, which resides in HIS church. There is only one church, one faith and one baptism. "Father, my they all be one, just as you and I are one." 33,000 denominations is not unity. The Church established on Peter is a the blueprint for salvation. One that a loving God left us as a touchstone back to him. Rather than leaving us to our own devices to guess what he wants from us and how to love him in return. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments". The greatest of these is to receive him in Holy Eucharist (account in John, Chapter six).

If there was no alcohol, tell me truthfully, would people go out to nightclubs, and come out staggering in the early hours, in someone elses bed, pukking up on the floor, beating up one another, ending up in hospital, depressing themselves to a point of suicide...tell me would the absence of alcohol take away the above.????

    God with us (everywhere)
    March 24, 2014
    Hinduism say god present everywhere.
But not only GOD, also so many deities are present everywhere.
Today science well know about 4 invisible deities. They are present everywhere.
    1:- Radiation (VAAYU DEV)
    2:- Magnetic field (ASVANI-KUMAR)
3:- Electro static Field (INDRA DEV)
    4:- Temperature (AGNI DEV)
Take a sensitive measuring instruments (meter), go anywhere in universe, insert inside your body or outside your body, or all pure & impure material, you can get a level of all above this 4.
So how God present everywhere ?
    Simple Ans-
    Like above 4.

glad the message connected sphman01 - this has been a bit of a new direction for us as a church - preaching people's jobs as though they were embodied parables, spoken in some mysterious way by God. I would love to hear how this sticks with you going forward. I'd be interested to know if and how it changes anything. JVS

    An Unfair God
    February 03, 2014
Some people take GOD rules as a buffet, I like this but I don't like this, even I, yes it may seem hard, but when you beg JEHOVAH GOD for his Holy Spirit, its not hard at all, remember to Fear GOD means; to hate what is bad as he does, and that's the first step to wisdom, you will make Mistakes, you will Stumble, you will Fall but don't keep UR head down, get up, reach out UR hand he will pull you up, tell him from UR heart,I'm sorry Father, and thanks for helping me up, and get back In the race not to win it ,but just to keep up with the pack of sheeps, running to the finish line, of EVER LASTING LIFE.

    So the scripture reads;

But I say, Keep walking by spirit and YOU will carry out no fleshly desire at all.
For the flesh is against the spirit in its desire, and the spirit against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, so that the very things that YOU would like to do YOU do not do.
Furthermore, if YOU are being led by spirit, YOU are not under law.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these.
As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit GODís kingdom.
On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.
    ( Galatians 5:16-23 )

Forensic Psychology and The Holy Spirit
    December 12, 2013
This is shameful and a complete distortion of the truth. There is no holy spirit person inside of Christians convicting Christians or teaching Christians, if there were, why is he and the rest of the pastors and teachers teaching.
Jesus never, ever, ever said that he was sending any holy spirit God.

At 5:38 he inserts the word holy spirit in brackets, well that's not in scripture, that is an insertion, an addition to God's word. The word he should have inserted there is the word Parakletos.

Friend, there is no holy spirit teacher, if there was, why are you teaching.

Howbeit when HE(The Parakletos), this spirit of truth has come, HE(The Parakletos) will guide you into all truth, for HE(The Parakletos) will not speak of himself, but whatever HE(The Parakletos) hears(percieves through revelations), that will HE(The Parakletos) speak, and HE(The Parakletos) will show you things to come."

God gave whales vestigial hindlimbs and other primates unique fingerprints like humans have... Actually no, we all evolved from common ancestors by the entirely natural processes of natural selection and genetic drift. God didn't create man; man created god in a time when the world was a scary and mysterious place. Since then, there's been a pattern of explanations that were once supernatural being found to have natural causes, often resulting in entirely new fields of study such as embryology and astrophysics. Meanwhile, religions continue to use fear, peer pressure, and indoctrination to pull people in and keep them from questioning it. Free your mind.

Ten Commandments Five - Honour your Parents
    November 22, 2013
Nope. I refuse. I will not honour two bigoted clueless abusers. Even their best friends used to complain to me about them and told me I should stay away from both of them if I valued my sanity. My father's dead. Good riddance. Only my step mother could stand him, and my mother's going to die alone. Fitting.

And spare me your moralizing. You need people to spit in your face for this sanctimonious claptrap.

jay, thanks for the comment. I hear you on it being a bit 'crusader' claiming that AF belong to God. And sometimes I do worry about wrecking a good thing with all this theologizing as well. But you have to concede on one point... if there is a God who made all of this, then surely even he loves and could have something to do with the band. And for the record... we're not saying AF is necessarily into the God in music scene, not at all. I guess the belief is that God is anonymously working in the world everywhere. JVS

Bands often use biblical motifs, poets use them too. it is a very useful tool for providing imagery to a populace nearly instinctively wired to pick up on these sorts of codes. using elements of Abrahamic religions to relay a scene will seem poignant to a huge amount of people at once. It does not mean they are a christian band or that god is speaking through them. does that not sound a little grandiose when it rolls off the tongue, folks? Look, i think its cool if your spirituality happens to jive with said motifs. ...and if it's giving you a richer experience, that is great. But can ya'll try not laying claim? "you guys don't get it" and other comments of that nature, along with all of this proselytizing ...it just seems kind of obscene in relation to a band who is really has a beautful, hopeful thing going. can we focus on the unifying things? If i sound too idealistic here, you might want to pick a different artist. friggin crusaders, i can hardly get a good trance going. :)

While I can't agree with your biblical worldview, I appreciate the attempt to hold all we know under the lens of your personal beliefs. You aren't ignoring thoughts of doubt (ie, if God creates something like the wolverine, he must be "a fan" of its behavior). Instead, you have striven to integrate what we know of our world into your belief structure. Bravo!

Lead singer Win Butler did study theology in college, but this seems to be largely an academic and philosophical pursuit rather than one relating to any personal beliefs he might hold himself. Although he is extremely interested and literate in religious texts, and the bible in particular, he does not seem to be a Christian himself. When asked if he believed in a god, he responded simply that he doesn't know.

If there is a God, then all things created have a place in His plan. And if they adapt to the new times, maybe God's saying we should and so should Christianity. I would think you'd agree to that.

@Boppa Troll You've made one fatal assumption - that I'm saying that God made the wolverine when he first made animals. God has been creating ever since he first started creating. God is always creating. And via evolution, God made the wolverine.

Sorry buddy but i really have to question the amount of thought put into this message...
all the animals we have now are completely different than the ones from creation, there are countless possible variations in the genetics of the original beasts that have over time given us what we have today.
God didn't create animals to be the killing machines they are today, that's just what they've become to survive.
sorry buddy, but wolverines probably didn't exist back then...
