The Day Metallica Came to Church - Ufonic Interview April 06, 2011 its ok i to be nonreligious. But do your research before you start putting christians in a catergory of ignorant a##holes filled with hate. Yes I am proud to believe in god. I think some parts of the system are corrupt, yes. That's why I don't go to church a lot. But people think just because religion is corrupt, god must be. Damn people piss me off.
God's Face in a Honey Bee April 03, 2011 What came first. The egg or the chicken. Religion has only separated us. I applaud the great courage people of faith have shown but in the end and when the coffers are dry. God has left the building but never are hearTs. Strength during the changes to come all, God knows we are going to need it. Be wise like serpents and have in stinks like deer. Get to know the language of wind and what grows nere you. Talk to the Mother and she will Talk back. Have compassion but know your limits. reduckules
Anger and Metallica April 02, 2011 Before Jesus saved me I loved Metallica. I was a very angry man and found a connection in their music. I don't think liking Metallica sends you to hell. For me their music is so connected to my old life I cannot reconcile it with Christ. Parts of our old life have to be left behind. While this message is compelling I do not remotely believe God speaks through bands like Metallica. While I appreciate Pastor Van Sloten trying to connect with unchurched I'm not sure this is the best route. nicadaemus
Hell, Lazarus, and a Rich Man March 31, 2011 Perhaps you should take a look at what is meant by this parable (hint: there's a reason there are FIVE brothers). And no, it does not mention hell, it states "hades". If you want to get your concepts from Greek mythology (which includes tartarus), perhaps you need to think about that. Jesus Christ believed hades existed? Then he certainly was no god, because it is mythology. And hades is not sheol either so don't try & say they're same. Stop lying.
Hell, Lazarus, and a Rich Man March 30, 2011 This started out as a great sermon. It gave both sides of the argument very well. However, in the end, he didnít land on the truth that the Bible gives. I have not seen the rest of the sermon; I hope he decided to claim the Truth instead of leaving it open ended. Why preach at all if everyone will be saved?
The Day Metallica Came to Church - Ufonic Interview March 25, 2011 I already had so much respect for the guys of Metallica.... that respect just tripled in size. I always knew there was a much deeper meaning to each song than what it implies literally, but this is finally some proof to confirm my beliefs 100%. I love you guys, Lars, James, Kirk and Rob/Jason/Cliff... you guys are all truely amazing in your own ways. \m/ CelloChick14
Feist, Community and Creativity March 07, 2011 How many musicians can say that they got a sermon about them? And not just pastors condemning the Dead Kennedy's and Iron Maiden for corrupting youth. That was cool.
The Day Metallica Came to Church - Ufonic Interview March 02, 2011 I'm not a huge religious person, but i think its cool that this pastor is giving props to Metallica. What separates him from the rest is that he researched Metallica. He also researched on Dave Mustaine!! I wonder what he thinks of "The God That Failed" DimebagVision
Calgary, City of Blinding Lights February 13, 2011 i love Calgary and i miss it soo much!! i hadto move away 7 years ago but i will move back to the greatest city in the world!! don't hate on it! s2g3m3
Anger & Metallica February 08, 2011 First I am a Christian and a Metallica fan. I have always seen music communicating God. It mirrors the author regardless if the people playing it are aware or not. I know many will disagree, that's cool I don't need folks to agree. Second you guys jam the lead singer does not look like a rocker but does a helluva job. The drummer, Lars would be proud I'd expect. Awesome job folks. Next Up Black Sabbath and the song "After Forever" check out the lyrics and "Lord of This World". Keep Rockin The Free World!
Jesus and the joy of drinking January 29, 2011 In John 1 say that in the beggining was the word...(Jesus) So jesus is not only the word he is the law. He also say that he came to fullfill the law. Now if this is true why would he teach that strong drink is a mocker and cursed is he that gives his neighbor strong drink. Their is a conflict here. So if he says that you should not give strong drink to your neighbor yet he gives strong drink to people at cana then he would be a liar and the truth would not be in him. parrishstuckey1
